Compress PDF files without uploading them

Veyneo reduces supported embedded image streams instead of promising a fixed output size. Choose a compression preset, run it locally, then compare the input and output sizes.

How to reduce PDF size locally

Veyneo reduces supported embedded image streams instead of promising a fixed output size. Choose a compression preset, run it locally, then compare the input and output sizes.

  1. Choose the PDF you want to compress.
  2. Select Light, Balanced or Strong compression.
  3. Run Compress, compare the resulting size, and download the new PDF.

What this tool does

  • Light, Balanced and Strong presets trade image quality for smaller output sizes.
  • Text and vector graphics are not intentionally rasterized by the current compression path.
  • If recompressing a supported image would make that image larger, the original image stream is kept.

Common uses

  • Reduce an image-heavy report before email or upload to another service.
  • Shrink scanned or photo-heavy PDFs while keeping text and vector content intact where supported.
  • Compare several presets when you care about both readability and file size.

FAQ

Does PDF compression upload my file?

No. The current Compress PDF tool performs its supported image recompression path locally in your browser.

Can Veyneo compress a PDF to exactly 1MB or 500KB?

Not currently. The tool provides quality presets rather than a guaranteed target file size.

Why do some PDFs shrink much more than others?

Image-heavy PDFs usually have more room to shrink. Text-heavy files, vector graphics and already-compressed images may produce little or no reduction.

What do the compression presets change?

The presets change the maximum image dimension and JPEG quality used for supported embedded images. Strong uses more aggressive settings than Balanced or Light.
